According to a recent article by Adweek, Alphabet – Google’s holding company – now controls 12% of all media ad spend, which includes $60 billion in the USA – a figure 166 % larger than the #2 ranked company – Disney.
Five digital players – Facebook, Google, Baidu, Yahoo, and Microsoft – collectively generated 19% of all global ad budgets.
Traditional media properties – newspaper and magazine publishers – continue to struggle as nearly 30 companies featured have lost media revenue in the past year.
